Hospital & Patient Transport

Calm, careful transport when getting there matters most

Outpatient appointments, day surgery discharge, dialysis, oncology, follow-ups — across Dorset County, Poole, Royal Bournemouth, Yeovil and Southampton. Familiar drivers. Wheelchair-accessible cars. Door-through-door support, every time.

What we do

More than a taxi to the hospital

Hospital appointments aren't normal journeys. There's the anxiety, the parking, the long waits, the post-procedure tiredness. We treat them differently — and we always have done.

  • Door-through-door. We don't just drive — we help with bags, walking sticks, doors and waiting-room hand-offs when needed.
  • Wheelchair-accessible vehicles. Side- and rear-loading WAVs in the fleet, suitable for most wheelchairs and mobility scooters.
  • Regular driver continuity. Where possible we send the same friendly driver to your recurring appointments.
  • Discharge collection. A real person to call when you're ready, not an app that needs a phone signal in a basement ward.
  • Dorset-wide reach. Dorset County (Dorchester), Poole, RBH Bournemouth, Christchurch, Yeovil District and Southampton General.
Caring driver helping passenger
For families & carers

Account billing & standing orders

If a relative needs regular hospital trips and you're not local — or you simply want one less thing to organise — we can hold a card on file, set a recurring schedule and send a single monthly invoice.

Single appointments

One-off return runs from £24 (Weymouth → Dorset County). Booked online, by phone or by your carer on your behalf.

Recurring schedules

Weekly dialysis, fortnightly oncology, twice-weekly physio — set it once and it runs in the background. Same time, same driver where possible.

Family & carer accounts

Card-on-file, monthly invoice and email summaries to the named carer. Ideal for families managing care from a distance.

FAQ

Hospital transport questions

Can my driver come into the hospital with me?

Yes — many of our regular passengers prefer it. Just let us know when booking and we'll factor a longer stop into the run.

Are your wheelchair-accessible vehicles the same price as a normal taxi?

Yes — we don't charge extra for accessibility. The price is based on distance and time, not the vehicle.

What if my appointment over-runs?

That's normal — clinics run late. We'll wait at no extra cost up to a sensible buffer, and after that the meter ticks at the slowest setting. We never leave anyone stranded.

Can the NHS or my insurance pay directly?

For most insurance policies and some Continuing Healthcare arrangements, yes — we'll work directly with your case manager to invoice them. NHS-funded patient transport is run separately by NHS Dorset; we complement, rather than replace, that service.
